What does 'good' look like for Sales teams using Slack?

November 17, 2023

Slack & Salesforce have released new functionality which creates a deeper connection between the two platforms to create a single view of a territory, forecasts and opportunities for sales people. This is all done with the view of reducing the time it takes to complete those admin activities which take up so much time.

This got me thinking, outside of this great new integration, what are the best practices for Sales teams in Slack to drive productivity and reduce administrative burden? From my experience here are few of the most valuable ways of working for Sales teams in Slack:

⏺ Internal team channels to share announcements, host & document weekly forecast calls, share wins & insights on outreach strategy/pitches/deals and to share competitive updates to ensure the team remains aligned

⏺ Account and/or territory channels setup for account teams to share progress against key deals and to configure alerts on

⏺ External channels setup with your customers to generate a closer connection

⏺ Configuring processes and approvals using Slack's Workflow Builder for e.g. reminders to complete forecasts, forecast submission, deal support requests, sharing pitch information and deal desk approvals... and so many more

⏺ Integrating your other applications like Salesforce Sales Cloud, Centro Hubspot, G-Suite and so many more

The key theme amongst all these use case ideas is centralising information to create better alignment and closer connections which allows your Sales teams to close deals faster.
